Unfortunately, this recipe comes across like a fairly generic chicken curry, which has a similar taste to cheap one's I've made in the past with pre-made curry powder from the supermarktet. Whilst not inedible, it had an overpowering taste of lemon and I would recommend reducing the amount of lemon juice added at the end.
You can't go wrong with chilli and garlic
So true! Happy spicing!
While this curry didn't feel as authentic as the others in the book (I think the lack of an indian name didn't help this), it tasted great! Garlic is always a winner in my book.
… and in ours! Glad you enjoyed it!
Our go to Curry! Straight forward to make and full of flavours. We enjoy to experiment with the chilliest that I grow.
Cool! Glad to hear this is a favourite!
Absolutely loved this. So nice to make onion bhaji. The vegetable rice was lovely. We will definitely make this again.
Glad you enjoyed this- we love the flower pattern on the plates!
First time using my favourite Christmas present from this year: made garlic chilli chicken with lemon rice and naans. All of it tasted absolutely amazing - especially the naans - so think this book will definitely become a favourite!
It's great to see you're enjoying your Christmas present! It looks like you have done a fantastic job, the naans look so fluffy and delicious!
Lush! So easy to make. Felt really nutritious too.
YUM this looks so rich and tasty- glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing spice box, highlight was definitely the Bhajis!
Woah we're loving this flavoursome feast... the Bhajis are making us hungry!
Made Garlic Chilli Chicken (with Quorn replacing chicken as for a vegetarian), Chicken Korma, Naan bread and Red and White Onion Bhaji's. Went down very well and all of it would have been eaten if we hadn't made sure to save portions for later, even the 9 month old loved the korma with some yogurt mixed in.
This looks great - and well done for having the willpower to save some, so that you can enjoy it all over again! How lovely that the little one could get stuck in too!
Great recipe, dead easy and the added fried garlic at the end gives it a nice flavour.
Yum - this looks delicious, Josh, great work!
My friend has been asking me to upload for ages and here is the dish I had a hand in. Garlic chilli chicken 4/5 always room for improvement but very tasty
That looks like an incredibly rich and delicious garlic chilli chicken, Richard, and it really looks the part in your balti bowl! Great job!
Chilli and garlic... what's not to love?! The recipe gets the spice level spot on, a lovely tomato sauce that's tingling but not too overpowering. Plus its a one-pot wonder, ideal for Saturday Night treat tea!
Looks like a spectacular Saturday night dinner! Plus the patterned plate looks great!
I made a mistake with the marinade, added 2tsp mirchi to the chicken, so I added the missing 2tsp methi to the sauce. Was a very good curry, though hotter than intended, I loved it.
Great job adapting the recipe as you went along - it looks like a perfectly rich and delicious curry and we're really pleased to hear how much you loved it, even if it was a bit more fiery than intended!
