All of its component ingredients are incredibly perfumed in their own right, from pungent Indonesian cloves to fiery Chinese ginger, sweet Vietnamese cassia cinnamon to dried bitter orange zest, smoky black cardamon to aromatic ground bay leaves. It’s star anise, though, which is the highest proportion ingredient in this blend, and that incredible liquorice scent is particularly important in this mix.
