A whole lot has happened since James first decided to quit his job and pursue the development of The Spicery full-time: two big moves of Spicery Headquarters, many quests taken to far-away lands in the pursuit of authentic spicy inspiration and many exciting progressions within the business itself. 10 solid years of hard work and dedication - and of course the support of our loyal customers! - have paid off. We couldn't let a decennial pass without putting on a proper party to celebrate so we invited a few of our friends 'round for a good old-fashioned Spicery feast.
On the night, head of HR Jess worked hard to ensure that all our guests' names were spelled properly.
Big, beautiful bowls of poppadoms were set out on all the tables. Breaking them up really helps to facilitate the dipping of the poppas into all the lovely sauces!
These were the signs for the some of the Spicery classics which were served. There was something for everyone to enjoy - which was good as there was enough food to feed an army.
Some delicious fresh salads helped to add a bit of crunch to the main meal.
Chefs Alice and Matt sure whipped up a real feast!
Head Spicerer Robyn and Jess enjoyed a few drinks at work, after-hours.
Our esteemed guest Lucy and our very own 'spicerer' Andrea mingle.
James made sure to keep the guest entertained
A good way of ensuring that was to ring the bell announcing dinner was ready
Tung showed his approval by giving his signature thumbs-up
All of the guests got an exclusive Grand Tour of Spicery Headquarters.
No celebration would be quite complete without cake, so we had two kinds! Urfa chilli torte and Sri Lankan love cake. A great end to a grand evening.
