Carrot Sambal

A sambal is a spicy condiment of Javanese origin usually containing plenty of fresh chillies!

The Cape Malay version eaten in South Africa uses locally available vegetables which are grated and dressed with lemon juice to make a less spicy dish, more like a salad.
