'Mysterious' or 'Strange' flavour peanuts (guai wei huang sheng) are an incredibly moreish sweet, salty and spicy snack from China. They're traditionally made by frying or candying peanuts flavoured with Sichuan pepper, chilli and sesame - this quick version is made in the oven, but has the same delicious (and mysterious!) sweet, salty, sour and spicy flavours as the original!
