Bhuna

Bhuna is a mild curry with lots of complex flavours - it describes the cooking technique of first frying the onions, garlic and spices in hot oil to form a dark brown paste then adding the meat resulting in a deeply-coloured, rich and thick sauce coating the tender meat.

Tasted amazing

We made the Bhuna with paneer and pilau rice and the easy Indian veg for a quick Friday night fix and it was delicious! So easy to do, tasted amazing and feels that little bit healthier than if we had eaten out!"

The Bhuna blend was sublime; I hope the Curry Legend version is just as delicious. I made the Cauliflower Caldine and the Tarka Dhal to go with it, and the creaminess of those dishes complimented the rich taste of the Bhuna beautifully.

Thanks Jeff! This looks like a fantastic spread

6 weeks in lockdown in Spain. Curry Legend cooking has made Saturday night still feel like Saturday night. And for that, I'll be forever grateful. X

Curry night with the housemates. A mix of veggie curries (achari kaddu, mushroom bahji and tarka Dahl) and a chicken bhuna with homemade garlic naan and onion chutney! Awesome Curry Legend spread!

The third from this years Advent Calendar. I used Chipolata sausages in place of Chicken and made some lemon & Mint Raita to go with it. we loved the way the tomato wedges brought the whole meal together. What a great recipe.

Easy and delicious, it said three chillis for hotness but I didn’t find it too hot.

Had my very good friend round for lunch and we decided to do a bhuna. I'm still learning my way through the book and as we forgot to take photos, here's whats leftover which I'm taking to my step father this evening

When the guys walked in the front door they were tantalised by the Methi Blend aromas before they even reached the kitchen. We all dished up straight from the pan while it was still sizzling. It went down a treat. 3 of us ate the lot. Delicious.

I doubled this up, taking advice to not quite double the spices. There were 6 of us and there was just enough, served with rice and a flat bread recipe (which was fab by Ben Lippett). It was well received and I’m already making it again next week. I made it in advance by 4 hours and then heated it up. The day after it was even better so note-to-self in future to make it the day before. Yet another great success from the wonderful Spicery team.
