Taco Legend Boston Beans

Boston, Massachusetts has the nickname ‘beantown’ due to the famous dish of dried beans cooked in molasses which originated there. Historically they may have only been spiced with mustard powder and pepper but here we’re using the special Taco Legend blends to give a lovely spicy, smoky depth of flavour!

Shopping List

  • 6 rashers of bacon (any type) or 100g chorizo, or veg/vegan alternative
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 3 x 400g tins of cannellini, borlotti or haricot beans (or a mixture)
  • 3 tbsp tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp vinegar (white wine or cider vinegar is best)
  • 30g black treacle, molasses or honey
  • Salad and jacket potatoes or rice to serve
