METHI BLEND: 3 tsp

MIRCHI BLEND: 1 tsp

One-pot run down is the national dish of Grenada. Cooked at parties and on the street, the name comes from the oil in the coconut milk which splits and sinks to the bottom of the pot. It’s true comfort food - a simple stew of chicken, potatoes, sweet potatoes and bananas in spiced coconut milk.

  • 4 chicken legs or large thighs
  • 1.2Kg mixture of floury potatoes, sweet potatoes, unripe bananas, carrots and/or squash
  • 300g kale or chard or ½ a green cabbage
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 10g sprigs of thyme
  • 10g bunch of parsley
  • 1 lime
  • 400ml tin of full fat coconut milk
Blends Needed

HALDI BLEND: 4 tsp

METHI BLEND: 3 tsp

MIRCHI BLEND: 1 tsp
Goes Great With

A fiery hot sauce!
Also Works a Treat With

Fish in place of the chicken or extra root veg for a veg version

For the last 3 years this recipe for Grenadian has been right up there at the top of my favourite meals. I have lost count .... and, our neighbour is joining us next week for supper - guess what is on the menu? Now so far I have used the already blended sachets, but I have only 2 left. So before long I'll start blending from my supply of haldi, methi, mirchi. I sincerely hope it's as good ? Knowing the Spicery it will be.
