More info

Jalfrezi is a delicious restaurant curry consisting of meat, peppers and onions all fried together in a thick, rich and spicy sauce. Typically it’s made with lots of sliced green chillies, though this version is medium heat without them - add as many as you can handle. It’s served here with a cooling lemon raita in case you went overboard on the chillies!

This kit contains the recipe and all of the spice blends needed to cook the different components of the meal - all you need to do is add a few fresh ingredients and follow the simple steps!

Another success!

Another success! These spice mixes have taken my vegan curries up a notch! Alpro vegan Greek yoghurt worked well in the raita!

Although I could have made this from my How to Be a Curry Legend cookbook kit, I decided to use up the Jalfrezi with Lemon Raita kit I had in my cupboard instead. It was great. Although jalfrezi is, by nature, a drier curry, I enjoyed the tomatoes and peppers for their juiciness. The lemon raita was tangy and refreshing.

Great to hear how much you enjoyed the combination of this hot stir-fried curry with the fresh, tangy raita on the side - it looks and sounds like a fantastic meal!

Lovely, light raita with the Jalfrezi mix. I wanted more spice, so added some fresh chilli, but otherwise a nice, rounded Jalfrezi.

Not sure what happened with this, it tasted ok, but looked unappetising. the onion puree had nothing to add any colour to it, so just became a grey paste. Maybe I was just unlucky with this one

My husband loves this - he likes saucy curries - this recipe makes lots of sauce and could cope with double the chicken and serve more people. Medium heat, loose sauce, good flavour, nice with fluffy basmati rice and poppadoms. Liked the Lemon Raita. ...

Delicious! We love this - tender chicken, peppers and chillis, lovely refreshing raita with yogurt and lemon. The spicing is spot-on and better than takeaways can do. Yum.

I made this for my husband - a bit of a self styled curry expert - and he said it was the best Jalfrezi he had ever tasted. It looked and smelled lovely and was an easy dish to prepare. I have another two packets of the same Jalfrezi in the cupboard read...

Family curry afternoon. Jalfrezi, Kukul Mas, Cauliflower 65, Onion Bahjis, Raita, naans and rice. Way too much for three but delicious!
