Korean Gochugaru Chilli Flakes

These are very small flakes (almost a coarse powder) of bright red Korean chillies with very few seeds. They have a very nice sweet flavour that isn't too pungent - a bit like the Turkish Aleppo chilli flakes but without the added salt and oil. Gochugaru flakes are normally used to make kimchi - the Korean pickled cabbage dish - and make the most delicious seasoning for shredded cabbage or vegetable salads.

Uses

Delicious in salads or dressings or even as a seasoning at the table. If you cook with them, their stunning colour and rich flavour comes out (just dressing the veg with the chilli flakes, salt and vinegar makes a lovely salad!)
