Lecso Con Crema

Lecso is a simple late-summer vegetable stew from Hungary, usually flavoured with lots of paprika (which grows so well there). Here the Taco Legend spices add a smoky, spicy Mexican depth of flavour to the fresh ingredients (chillies, peppers and tomatoes) that were of course originally introduced to Europe from Latin America.

  • 100g smoked bacon, pancetta or smoked sausage or use veggie sausages - cut into small bite-sized pieces
  • 6 peppers (any colour) - thinly sliced
  • 2 onions - thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic - finely chopped or crushed
  • 2 tomatoes - roughly chopped
  • 10g bunch of coriander (optional) - roughly chopped
  • 150ml sour cream
  • 1 tsp flour (any type)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Jacket potatoes to serve
