This unusual chutney from the south east of India is incredibly moreish (almost like a spicy Indian peanut butter!), and is very easy to make. As well as being delicious with a curry, it’s also great at a BBQ to serve with kebabs or grilled chicken.

  • 1 clove of garlic - finely grated or crushed
  • Fresh ginger - finely grated or chopped to make 2 tsp
  • 50g peanuts (roasted and salted are fine) - crushed or ground to a coarse texture
  • 1 tbsp vinegar (white wine or cider vinegar is best)
  • 2 tsp sugar
