Jamaican Festival Dumplings

These Jamaican fried dumplings apparently got their name because they’re so good they taste like a festival in your mouth!

They often contain cornmeal but here we’re using sweetcorn for a lighter textured dumpling.

Shopping List

  • 1 bunch of spring onions - thinly sliced
  • 1 red chilli - finely chopped (seeds removed if you prefer less heat)
  • 1 egg (any size)
  • 195g tin of sweetcorn
  • 70g plain flour 
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Oil for frying (sunflower or vegetable oil is best)
