Caribbean Run Down

This dish is usually cooked in huge pots for street parties - its name comes from the way the oil in the coconut milk sinks to the bottom of the pot during cooking. It’s a delicious stew of chicken, root veg and bananas in spiced coconut milk, topped with little dumplings known as spillers.

For the last 3 years this recipe for Grenadian has been right up there at the top of my favourite meals. I have lost count .... and, our neighbour is joining us next week for supper - guess what is on the menu? Now so far I have used the already blended sachets, but I have only 2 left. So before long I'll start blending from my supply of haldi, methi, mirchi. I sincerely hope it's as good ? Knowing the Spicery it will be.

It's nice to hear the Run Down has always been such a hit with you Lyn! Happy spicing!

Real Comfort Food came out like a main course soup and as delicious as any. 2nd helpings followed but there is still plenty left for tonight and even tomorrow. What a wonderful "Free Sample" it was. Thank you.

Ooh yes, a bowl of Grenadian Rundown when we arrived at Glastonbury Town went down a treat. Just what we needed after a long drive. Delicious. Thank you guys.

I bought a number of these kits and now try to just do it myself as it isn't always available. It is the most belly cosy kiss you can wish for. There was a packet of chillies that came with the kit that I can't replicate and always look to see if it has been put back on the available list. Such a simple and easy thing to cook, but omg, devine. Licks lips and smiles.
